The traffic technology exhibtion Intertraffic will be held at the Amsterdam RAI from 5 to 8 April. The European Truck Platooning Challenge will be there in the Smart Mobility Center (Hall 9, stand 09.308).
All the trucks that took part in the 6 April landing of the European Truck Platooning Challenge at the APM Terminals, Maasvlakte II, Rotterdam, will be parked in formation in front of the RAI during Intertraffic on 7 April.
The landing on 6 April marks the arrival at the Maasvlakte of the six columns of trucks, driving over public roads, from several European countries. This Challenge is a large-scale test of cross border truck platooning. Realising this new form of smart mobility demands intensive multidisciplinary cooperation.
The trucks from DAF, Daimler, Iveco, MAN, Scania and Volvo taking part in this project are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, enabling them to drive in columns at uniform distances, at the same speed. Visitors to Intertraffic will pass the trucks that took part in the Challenge. Large billboards will display the message of the Challenge: creating next generation mobility.
Smart Mobility Center
At Intertraffic the European Truck Platooning Challenge will have a stand with Connekt, in the Smart Mobility Center. This will feature a film on the technology and benefits of truck platooning. Sure enough, there will also be shots of the arrival of the truck platoons at Maasvlakte II, Rotterdam, on 6 April. And visitors to Intertraffic can watch a presentation in the Smart Mobility theatre from 15.00 to 15.45 hrs. This will feature the European Truck Platooning Challenge as a live case.
