The Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) is a platform for cooperation and
promotion on improvements to the road system and its infrastructure. Its 27 member
states and their road authorities can seize the future of smart mobility infrastructure.

Connecting Mobility

There is a whole range of initiatives and alliances around ITS and smart mobility.
Connecting Mobility provides oversights on this. The action programme knows what is
going on here, nationally and internationally, it marries up developments and ensures
that parties can link-up.


Connekt is an independent network of corporates, governmentals and knowledge
institutes who pool their strengths to arrive at a sustainable improvement of mobility in
the Netherlands.

European Commission

The European Commission represents the interests of the EU as a whole. It proposes
new legislation to the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, and
it ensures that EU law is correctly applied by member countries

DITCM Innovations

DITCM Innovations is an open innovation organisation in which government, industry
and knowledge institutes work together on the successful introduction of cooperative
systems to sustainably support mobility and accessibility.


Rijkswaterstaat is responsible for the design, construction, management and
maintenance of the main infrastructure facilities in the Netherlands. This includes the
main road network, the main waterway network and water systems.


RDW, the Netherlands Vehicle Authority, looks forward to major Challenge outcomes
including harmonization, e.g. exemption procedures.


The Dutch government sees the potential of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and is
investing in these systems (ITS). As vehicle authority the RDW takes a leading role around
developing and implementing ITS regulations.
